March 5 is Multiple Personality Day
The 1976 TV miniseries Sybil put multiple personalities on the pop-culture map. Starring Sally Field, the miniseries portrayed a woman with 13 different personalities. (In the book she had 16.)
Sally Field won an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama or Comedy Series for her work in Sybil. The role marked a new phase in her career, showcasing her ability to take on more serious roles than the ones she had played on Gidget and The Flying Nun.
