March 9 is National Barbie Day, celebrating the anniversary of Barbie’s debut on March 9, 1959.
Here’s a pre-Brady Bunch Maureen McCormick (Marcia), wondering what to do with her old Barbie when she gets the new Twist ‘n Turn Barbie “with a groovy outdoor look.” Turns out she can trade it in for credit toward the new Barbie.
The Twist ‘n Turn Barbie marked the beginning of the Mod Barbie Era, according to the Fashion Doll Guide website.
